Introduction to yoga classes are on a Monday 6-7 and Saturday 11.15 - 12.00, we focus on the fundamentals of yoga, safe and effect alignment in each pose, and build confidence with sequence.
Yin - a restorative practice, which is slow, holding in each pose for up to 5 minutes perhaps completing 8-10 poses in one hour.
Hatha - Involves more poses than Yin but you still have time to explore each pose and adjust as you need using props if you need.
Vinyasa - Means ‘flow', each poses is connected to the next pose meaning the sequences moves faster than Yin or Hatha. We have Slow vinyasa, which takes that flow slower, all levels, and power vinyasa, which get increasingly faster.
Nidra - Is a fascinating style of yoga - it involves no physical movement, you are lying down comfortably and are led through a specific meditation which keeps you just between wakefulness and sleep, it was designed for post traumatic stress, depression, disembodiment, and general rehabilitation, it focusses on the psychology of pain, keeping you in a specific sleep zone which helps you heal, they say up to 20 minutes of Nidra is the equivalent of 4 hours sleep in terms of physical and psychological recovery.
